Hwah-sam : The Roberts Creek area was originally occupied by the indigenous people of the Coast Salish Nation (specifically) the Shishalh tribe, from which the town of the Sechelt took it’s name. Shishalh people referred to Roberts Creek as hwah-sam (meaning big fat salmon.

Known also as one of the lay lines of the rainbow bridge.
